Developer Senior

Location: This position will work a hybrid model (remote and in office 1 -2 days per week).  Ideal candidates will live within 50 miles of our Pulse Point location in Baltimore, MD.

National Government Services is a proud member of Elevance Health's family of brands. We administer government contracts for Medicare and partner with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to transform federal health programs.

The Developer Senior is responsible for participating in all phases of the development and maintenance life cycle, typically for an assigned business unit, client program, or corporate department and utilizing various customer technology platforms.

How you will make an impact:

  • Oversees the work of other SharePoint developers and executes more complex development efforts as required.

  • Supports problem resolution and provides technical support for other developers.

  • Proactively manages the SharePoint environment to maximize value to the business.

  • Maintains active relationships with customers to determine business requirements.

  • Leads Migration Projects with experience and expertise in leading a SharePoint Migration.

  • Collaborates with engineers and graphic designers, analyzes, classifies complex change request, reviews, and evaluates possible enhancements.

  • Works with development team to develop and define application scope and objectives and prepares functional and/or technical specifications.

  • Analyzes and evaluates detailed business and technical requirements.

  • Codes and maintains complex components of information systems.

  • Provides support and expertise to migrate on-premises instance to a cloud or hybrid solution.

  • Recommends strategies of process improvement and tools to achieve more efficient results and keep up with current technologies.

  • Supports migrations, upgrades, and patching software.

  • Develops and performs system testing and fixes defects identified during testing and re-executes unit tests to validate results.

  • Aids in integrating activities with other IT departments for successful implementation and support of project efforts.

  • Provides on-call support, monitors the system, and identifies system deficiencies.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and a minimum of 3 years’ experience on one platform, or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

  • This position is part of our FGS (Federal Government Services) division which, per CMS TDL 190275, requires foreign national applicants meet the residency requirement of living in the United States at least three of the past five years.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:

  • Experience with multiple Business Intelligence tools, multi-database, multi-language or multi-business application preferred strongly preferred.

  • Experience leading people, small projects strongly preferred.

  • Provide troubleshooting support strongly preferred.

  • Strong development skills in .NET Framework (C#) and SharePoint API's as a whole; Web Services and PowerShell programming strongly preferred.

  • Experience in developing applications with SharePoint and demonstrated experience building workflow and collaboration solutions strongly preferred.

  • Experience developing WSP packages for custom solutions deployment strongly preferred.

  • Strong understanding of object-oriented design, web application architecture, JavaScript, CSS, and XML preferred.

  • Experience documenting best practices for software configuration, site permission policy, and site template management preferred.

  • Experience with Agile or SAFe frameworks preferred.

For candidates working in person or remotely in the below location(s), the salary* range for this specific position is $102,480 to $153,720
