Director Business Improvement - Process Improvement and Value Realization

 

Location: This role requires associates to be in-office 3 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace. Alternate locations may be considered. Travels to worksite and other locations as necessary.

The Director Business Improvement is responsible for leading large-scale business unit and enterprise-wide initiatives that optimize end-to-end operations, enhance quality, create efficiencies, and position the organization for scalable growth by minimizing administrative overhead. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in strategic planning, operational transformation, and data analysis, with a strong track record of driving continuous improvement in healthcare settings.

 

How you will make an impact:

  • Develops and maintains an initiative intake process to prioritize and assess project value, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and leadership needs, while managing risk and delivering measurable results on time and within budget.
  • Leads data-driven process improvement projects through structured methodologies that emphasize process analysis, operational performance, implementation, and sustainability.
  • Builds and institutionalizes a disciplined approach to business improvement across the organization, promoting best practices and consistent frameworks for identifying, executing, and monitoring change.
  • Establishes and manages comprehensive communication plans to keep stakeholders informed of initiative progress and impact.
  • Aligns internal resources and oversees external partners as needed to ensure the right skills and competencies are applied to key initiatives.
  • Supports department-level and enterprise executives in strategic decision-making, goal setting, and prioritization of digital and automation investments.
  • Hires, trains, coaches, and evaluates the performance of direct reports.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Requires a BA/BS in the healthcare field and minimum of 10 years experience at a director or above level with significant large-scale business optimization experience up to $100M+ in valuation; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
  • Associates in this role are expected to have Lean, Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent training that demonstrates a similar level of proficiency in process improvement, operational excellence, and change management.

 

Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experience:

  • Master's degree preferred. 
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, decision-making, problem-solving skills, and adaptability highly preferred.
  • Experience interacting confidently with senior management and executive level stakeholders, as a subject matter expert and comfortable with influencing decision-making preferred.
  • Excellent written, oral, presentation and interpersonal communication skills with the proven ability to negotiate expectations between multiple parties strongly preferred. 
  • Proficient of Microsoft Office products Excel, Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word strongly preferred.
