Director II, Technology

Location: This position will work a hybrid model (remote and office). The Ideal candidate will live within 50 miles of one of our Elevance Health PulsePoint locations.

The Director II, Technology is responsible for overseeing senior technical architects that support Enterprise Architecture activities that guide the development and management of technical, Cloud, Security, I&AM and infrastructure solutions. These solutions enable the organization’s future-state business capabilities and drive the organization’s targeted business outcomes. Technologies include data center, infrastructure, cloud, mobile, AI, Internet of Things (IoT), blockchain, security, edge computing and immersive experiences technologies etc. Ensures creation of deliverables that help develop target-state guidance (standards, guidelines, individual parts, platforms, and configurations) for evolving the technical infrastructure across the enterprise. 

How you will make an impact:

  • Conducts processes to assure business partners and technical operational team are included in technology direction setting and that the direction is clearly communicated, clear infrastructure and technology lifecycles are established and communicated
  • Oversees the infrastructure technology portfolio, understands and documents the long- term direction for infrastructure technologies, assures current technologies meet capacity. requirements, and certifies all business solutions against architecture designs and standards
  • Leads part or all the Enterprise Architecture technologies integration and to design, develop, and/or communicate the consolidated enterprise architectures for the organization. Works closely with the entire infrastructure team to ensure compliance with defined standards
  • Interfaces with key Information Technology (IT) solution vendors; develops strategies and facilitates performance measurement plans to optimize vendor performance
  • Supports the development of Technology Plans and Forecasts for an enterprise-wide technology, tool, infrastructure, or a center or domain that is equivalent in scope and complexity
  • Supports technology strategic planning, budget development, and provides input to support investment decisions technologies
  • Supports the enterprise to ensure application health governance which includes technology compliance, security alignment, operational health and disaster recovery/business continuity requirements are met
  • Delivers and supports technology architecture solutions for large scale projects
  • Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with key business partners
  • Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct reports

Minimum Requirements:

Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and a minimum of 8 years of IT management experience, experience in function/area being managed, experience managing multiple tasks and projects; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Also requires experience in multiple technologies, and a broad understanding of all IT function.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:

  • Experience, expertise and/or specific certification in TOGAF or equivalent, ITIL preferred
  • Health insurance industry experience strongly preferred

For candidates working in person or remotely in the below location(s), the salary* range for this specific position is $206,304 to $309,456.
