Engineer Lead

Location: Ideal candidates will be able to report to our Pulse Point location at 2505 N. Highway 360, Suite 300, Grand Prairie, TX 75050.

This role requires associates to be in-office 1 - 2 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace.

Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

The Engineer Lead is responsible for full delivery of end-to-end system development and maintenance on medium enterprise-wide technology platforms.

How You Will Make an Impact: 

  • Maintain active relationships with customers to determine business requirements and lead requirements gathering meetings.
  • Review designs with the business.
  • Lead efforts with web and marketing teams to increase the presence of web products.
  • Implement improvements in stability, performance, and scalability across major business-critical systems.
  • Implement processes to reduce barriers and roadblocks in projects, services, and processes in order to operate more efficiently.
  • Own the change request process and coordinate with other teams as necessary.
  • Develop and own list of final enhancements.
  • Develop and define application scope and objectives and supervise the preparation of technical and/or functional specifications from which programs will be written.
  • Perform technical design reviews and code reviews.
  • Ensure unit testing is completed and meets the test plan requirements, and system testing is completed, and system is implemented according to plan.
  • Responsible for delivery of application technology solutions and data information planning effort.
  • Coordinate and manage on-call support and own the system monitoring process.
  • Own the technical development environment and work on the Enterprise Team.
  • Lead multiple or large projects and facilitate large group JAD sessions for requirements, modeling in several disciplines.
  • Lead vendor evaluation and analysis.
  • Gather business requirements and convert them to features and stories.
  • Identify components impacted for development to meet the acceptance criteria of user stories.
  • Develop code, review code, estimate level of effort, and lead the API development efforts using backend technologies to satisfy acceptance criteria.
  • Analyze, design, develop and implement complete life cycle of application development environment to support business applications.
  • Deploy code in nonproduction and production environments with support from DevOps teams.
  • Validate application in Unit Acceptance Testing environment, performance environment, preproduction and production environments.
  • Coordinate release with release management team, DevOps team to prepare and launch new version of the app in Android and iOS app store.
  • Perform defect fixes and postproduction support to ensure the application is working as expected.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field of study.
  • Seven (7) years in any occupation with IT experience, or related.

Experience Requirements:

  • Seven (7) years of required Information Technology (IT) experience, or related must include:
    • 5 years of experience in Microservices and API development using Java, Spring Boot, Node JS, C, C++ or JavaScript frameworks
    • 5 years of experience in relational and nonrelational databases including Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, and MongoDB database
    • 3 years of experience in working with teams using Agile methodology including Scrum or Kanban
    • 3 years of experience in cloud infrastructure including AWS and Azure
    • 3 years of experience in leading development activities and designing solutions to solve complex problems related to API development
    • 2 years of experience in setting up API Gateway using tools including AWS API Gateway.
