Enterprise Security Architect (Information Security Executive Advisor)
Location: This role requires associates to be in-office 1 day per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace. Ideal candidates will be able to report to one of our Pulse Point locations in Indianapolis, IN, Atlanta, GA, Norfolk, VA, Grand Prairie, TX, Nashville, TN, Columbus, OH, or St. Louis, MO.
The Enterprise Security Architect (Information Security Executive Advisor) is a strategic leadership role responsible for developing and driving robust Enterprise Security Architecture models and strategies. This position integrates deep technical expertise with strategic business acumen to ensure information systems and assets remain secure, resilient, and aligned with organizational goals and industry standards. As an Enterprise Security Architect, you will shape the organization's security posture, drive innovation, and ensure business continuity and stakeholder trust. Your capacity to translate technical challenges into strategic opportunities will contribute directly to organizational resilience, competitive advantage, and sustainable growth.
How you will make an impact:
Develop and implement enterprise security architecture strategies aligned with business objectives and risk management priorities.
Define, maintain, and communicate architectural blueprints, roadmaps, and reference architectures consistent with business and IT strategies.
Evaluate, recommend, and champion new technologies and methodologies demonstrating clear business value, ROI, and risk mitigation.
Ensure comprehensive integration of security standards and frameworks across all layers of enterprise architecture (conceptual, logical, physical, and component).
Provide oversight and vision for enterprise-wide security architecture, ensuring consistency, compliance, and adaptability to evolving business requirements.
Facilitate enterprise adoption of zero trust architectures, AI/ML model security, and secure cloud strategies.
Collaborate closely with IT leaders, business stakeholders, data scientists, and DevOps teams to embed security throughout the system development lifecycle.
Offer thought leadership to position the enterprise as an industry leader in security architecture and best practices.
Lead security governance processes and monitor architectural component usage to optimize performance and reusability.
Mentor and guide junior architects, fostering professional growth, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Minimum Requirements:
Requires BS/BA in Information Technology or related field of study and a minimum of 10 years’ experience in systems administration and security aspects of information systems, access management and network security technologies, network communications, computer networking, telecommunications, systems development and management, hardware, software, data, and people; experience with multiple technical and business disciplines required; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:
Minimum of 8 years' experience in enterprise security architecture highly preferred.
Relevant professional certifications (CISSP, TOGAF, SABSA (SCF, SCP, or SCA) highly preferred.
Proven track record in delivering large-scale, business-aligned security projects highly preferred.
Experience within Fortune 100 or similarly complex organizational environments highly preferred.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C#, and infrastructure automation tools (Terraform, CloudFormation) highly preferred.
Strong understanding of secure software development lifecycle methodologies (SDLC, MDLC), Agile methodologies, and DevSecOps practices highly preferred.
Extensive experience in healthcare or financial services industries, with a demonstrated record of successfully implementing SABSA at scale highly preferred.
Experience leading significant enterprise security transformations aligned with business objectives highly preferred.
Advanced knowledge of cybersecurity solutions and emerging technologies (AI/ML security, Zero Trust, secure cloud architectures) highly preferred.
Proven strategic and analytical capabilities to align security architecture effectively with business objectives highly preferred.
Strong expertise in secure cloud environments, AI/ML, and Zero Trust frameworks highly preferred.
Extensive knowledge and practical experience with SABSA methodologies and enterprise-wide security strategy implementation highly preferred.
Robust risk management capabilities with experience in comprehensive security solution design, from business contexts to technical implementations highly preferred.
Deep understanding of industry standards and frameworks (e.g., SABSA, TOGAF, NIST Zero Trust Architecture, CISA Zero Trust Maturity Model, HIPAA) highly preferred.
Expert knowledge of governance, compliance, and regulatory requirements (PCI-DSS, HIPAA, NIST, FISMA) highly preferred.
Ability to develop, maintain, and evolve security knowledge bases, best practices, and architectural guidelines preferred.
Proven ability to drive organizational change, secure stakeholder engagement, and successfully execute strategic initiatives preferred.
Exceptional communication skills, adept at clearly articulating complex technical and security concepts to diverse stakeholders, including executives preferred.
