Title: Pharmacy Technician III
Schedule: Monday – Friday; 9am – 6pm central time
Location: Plano, TX – 3033 President George Bush Hwy
On-site: This role requires associates to work from the posted locations full-time, enabling consistent face-to-face collaboration, teamwork, and direct engagement. This policy promotes an environment built on in-person interaction, communication, and immediate support.

The Pharmacy Technician III is responsible for assisting pharmacists in the performance of complex technical and clerical duties involved in the daily operations of the Pharmacy, as allowed by law and/or regulation.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
Assists the pharmacist with dispensing items a physician orders pursuant to a valid prescription.
Check for expired / unusable products and disposes of them properly.
Answers and initiates communications related to providing pharmaceutical care.
Prepares delivery tickets.
Assists the patient delivery representative in orders, receiving, maintaining, and tracking all infusion-related equipment.
Runs test claims within specified period of time.
Inputs appropriate progress/billing note (test claim, real claim OOP, payment plan).
Adjudicate real claims daily and ensure credit card receipts are scanned into patients’ charts and sent to the appropriate cash tracking application daily.
Follows up on co-pay collection to ensure co-pays are accounted for each delivery.
Maximizes the efficiency and productivity of the pharmacy and delivery operations.
Strives to achieve cost effectiveness in all areas (including purchasing, inventory control, staffing delivery services).
May lead, train and mentor lower level pharmacists.
May help direct associates and balance workload throughout the pharmacy.
May assist in carrying out the full range of technical support functions within the pharmacy.
Associates in this role are expected to keep up with continuing education necessary to maintain current licensure in all states licensed and maintain a current pharmacy technician certificate where required by law and/or regulation.
Minimum Requirements:
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent.
Requires a minimum 3 years experience as pharmacy technician with training/experience in alternate site/home health pharmacy practice and the preparation of sterile products.
Requires a current, active, valid and unrestricted Certified Pharmacy Technician certificate and/or license.
Maintain a current pharmacy technician certificate where required by law and/or regulation.
Multi-state certification is required if this individual is providing services in multiple states.
For Paragon and Carelon Health business unit, satisfactory completion of a Tuberculosis test is a requirement for this position.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:
ACPE IV certification preferred but not required.
