Platform Engineer Lead

Location: This role requires associates to be in-office 1 - 2 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace. The Platform Engineer Lead  will be responsible for engineering and delivery of end to end system development and maintenance on key Enterprise wide technology platforms.

How you will make an impact:

  • Be a doer. Engineer and implement systems that are efficient, scalable, compliant with enterprise standards, and meet functional requirements as part of a Platform.

  • Collaborate with other teams and Engineers to deliver solutions, but also be a problem solver and independent thinker who doesn’t need all the details laid out for them.

  • Implement improvements in stability, performance, and scalability across major business-critical systems.

  • Implement process to reduce barriers and roadblocks in projects, services, and processes in order to operate more efficiently.

  • Participate in the change request process and coordinates with other teams as necessary.

  • Help develop and own list of final enhancements and technical requirements.

  • Develop and define application scope and objectives and participates in the preparation of technical and/or functional specifications from which services will be written.

  • Perform technical design reviews and code reviews.

  • Follow the established software development lifecycle. Ensure unit tests are completed and meet the test plan requirements, system testing is completed, and the system is implemented according to plan.

  • Be responsible for delivery of application technology solutions and data information planning efforts.

  • As required, participate in on-call support and/or own the system monitoring process.

  • Utilize the technical development environment to work as part of the Enterprise team.

  • Periodically participate in vendor evaluation and analysis.

Minimum Requirements: 

Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and a minimum of 7 years related experience; multi platform, multi-dimensional experience, and expert level experience with business and technical applications; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:

  • Strong understanding of secure information, systems, compliance, and data practices is preferred.

  • Expert level skills developing in one or all of the following languages is strongly preferred: Python, Typescript, Go (Experience in another higher-level language may also be acceptable).

  • Expert level skills designing and implementing scalable backend APIs and services in an SOA or microservice architecture utilizing any of the following (or similar) is strongly preferred: REST, OpenAPI, gRPC, Swagger.

  • Experience working with Docker and container-based orchestration is preferred.

  • Cloud-native experience with expertise in AWS preferred, but experience with other Cloud providers is preferred.

  • Understanding and experience with building AI services and their orchestration in the cloud, including Generative AI, LLMs, ML, ML Ops is strongly preferred.

  • Experience with any AI model cloud providers is a huge plus (AWS Bedrock, Google Vertex, etc.)

  • Experience working with agents, agentic workflows, and agentic runtimes preferred.

  • Experience with AI Observability is a huge plus (both GenAI and ML)

  • Skills working with CI/CD, automation, and integration testing is a big plus

  • Experience working with and securing cloud data services is preferred (RDS, Snowflake, OpenSearch, Qdrant, etc.)

  • Kuberbetes and/or DevOps experience is preferred.

  • Experience with OpenTelemetry preferred.

For candidates working in person or virtually in the below locations, the salary* range for this specific position is $139,744 to $209,616.
