Researcher Senior

Location: This role requires associates to be in-office 1 - 2 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace. Alternate locations may be considered if candidates reside within a commuting distance from an office.

The Researcher Senior will be responsible for executing health services research studies in order to identify and solve pressing healthcare issues as part of Elevance Health’s Public Policy Institute.

How you will make an impact:

  • Carry out retrospective research in health services, health economics, and health policy evaluation of innovative care delivery models.
  • Support research activities in the following areas: research proposals, including scope of work; research design and methodologies; statistical analysis; and reporting of statistical results.
  • Analyze health care data, including claims, clinical data, national survey data, and other large datasets using R or SAS.
  • Apply econometric and/or statistical techniques for conducting data analyses.
  • Work as part of a team to complete high quality analyses, reports, peer-reviewed publications, presentations to clients and at scientific conferences, and other milestones.
  • Perform key project management functions with minimal oversight.
  • Educate and serve as a reference to other researchers.
  • Perform statistical analyses independently.

Minimum Requirements:

Requires an MS, PHD or equivalent in health sciences or related field; minimum 3 years of experience in health services research, biostatistics, health economics, or a related field; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:

  • Strong study design and statistical analysis skills.
  • Proficiency with one or more statistical applications (SAS, R, etc.).
  • Post-graduate or post-doctoral training in conducting health services research with experience in biostatistics, managed care, health care systems, health policy, or related experience is preferred.
  • Experience with health plan administrative databases (pharmacy and medical claims) and/or other big datasets is preferred.

For candidates working in person or virtually in the below location(s), the salary* range for this specific position is $86,868 to $157,734.
