Social Work Intern – Summer 2026 (Puerto Rico)

Locations: Bayamon, PR & Humacao, PR. This role requires associates to work from the posted locations full-time, enabling consistent face-to-face collaboration, teamwork, and direct engagement. This policy promotes an environment built on in-person interaction, communication, and immediate support. Alternate locations may be considered if candidates reside within a commuting distance from an office.

The Social Work Intern will support the maintenance and accuracy of the organization’s internal Community Directory application. Responsibilities include validating, updating, and organizing community resource information to ensure data quality and accessibility for internal teams. This role offers hands-on experience in healthcare operations and community resource management within a collaborative environment. Travel to additional office locations may be required.

Schedule: This position will work a first shift within operational hours from 8:00 am- 5:00 pm Monday thru Friday.

How you will make an impact:

  • Create and execute the appropriate test assets (plans, cases, scripts) to assure the developed application conforms to requirements and design.
  • Participate in peer reviews to ensure the completeness of all test assets created.
  • Identify, report, and review application defects in assessing application quality.
  • Participate in the transition of software and systems into production.
  • Functions or examples of projects for this role:
    • Complete telephone calls to identify updated information about community resources.
    • Identify new services in the community to fulfill members needs which are not covered within the health plan benefits.
    • Perform data validation tasks to assure accuracy of information.
    • Complete daily intervention record and participate in weekly key performance indicators group sessions.
    • Write an article for internal bulletin.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree as a 3rd or 4th year student
  • Students must be authorized to work in the U.S. without future visa sponsorship requirements

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:

  • Pursing a bachelor’s degree in Social Work as a 3rd or 4th year
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Bilingual (English & Spanish)
