Staff VP & Deputy Chief Security Officer

Location:   Indianapolis, IN

This role requires associates to be in-office at least 3 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. Summary

Responsible for setting the strategic direction, planning, development, and management of programs across multiple global security functions.

Position Responsibilities

Threat and Incident Management

  • Directs the Threat Management and Incident Management programs.

  • Leads the Insider Threat program and supports the direction of the Security Awareness program.

Global Risk Assessment and Intelligence

  • Directs the global site security risk assessment program and the global security travel program.

  • Responsible for the delivery of intelligence products that identify key risk factors and deliver strategic risk mitigation solutions.

  • Provides direction and oversight in identifying, tracking, and monitoring emerging global security threats and trends.

  • Directs research and analysis efforts, delivering briefs on global security threats and issues.

  • Conducts research and produces reports and advisories on global security risks.

  • Updates senior management on strategic intelligence issues and represents global security in key business meetings and strategic planning events.

  • Oversees the intelligence support function for Executive Protection and Major Event Security programs.

Governance, Compliance, and Policy

  • Enforces governance and compliance policies related to security programs.

  • Initiates changes in corporate policies and procedures to counter developing security threats to the enterprise.

  • Coordinates the organization’s risk model program.

Leadership and Team Management

  • Oversees the global security team.

  • Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct reports.

  • Develops and documents standards for measuring the efficiency and effectiveness of programs.

  • Support the recruitment, onboarding, and development of global security team members.

Relationships and Communication

  • Develops relationships and maintains communication with appropriate federal, state, and local law enforcement groups.

  • Collaborates with key internal partners on enterprise-wide risk mitigation programs.

  • Serves as a trusted advisor, project manager, and thought partner, driving the execution of security initiatives.

  • Drives cross-functional collaboration across business units, regions, and teams.

  • Serves as key liaison between the CSO, security leadership, and executive management.

Strategic Planning and Execution

  • Responsible for strategic planning and alignment of the GSS function and leadership team.

  • Responsible for the successful completion of GSS major projects and initiatives.

  • Partner with the Chief Security Officer (CSO) and finance teams to develop, monitor and optimize the global security budget.

Position Requirements

Requires a BA/BS degree related field and a minimum of 10 years of leadership experience within a major law enforcement agency, the military, the US Intelligence community, public or private sector security or a business intelligence organization; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences

Master’s Degree strongly preferred. 

Certified Protection Professional (CPP) Certification strongly preferred.

Experience leading security programs for a multinational or global organization strongly preferred.
