Location: Elevance Health supports a hybrid workplace model (virtual and in-office) with PulsePoint sites used for collaboration, community, and connection. This includes remote work and 1-2 days in office per week. Candidates must reside within a 50-mile or 1-hour commute each way of a relevant Elevance Health location.

The Strategic Sourcing Manager is responsible for supporting indirect Strategic Sourcing and Procurement. The Elevance Health Strategic Sourcing/Procurement Team manages a portfolio of member and client facing solutions across the enterprise as well as intercompany agreements within the organization. This position is part of Elevance Health’s Global Supply Chain Team and will support the execution and implementation of one or more sub-category sourcing strategies. In addition, this role will focus on working directly to understand and support the Carelon and Anthem Sales teams during the Sales bid process.

How You Will Make an Impact

 Primary duties may include, but are not limited to: 

  • Executes standardized strategic sourcing processes for assigned sub-categories.

  • Builds and maintains strong working relationships with internal customers and key suppliers for sub-categories.

  • Focuses on cost savings.

  •  Participates in cross-enterprise commodity teams for sub-categories and aggressively tracks and improves non-compliance preferred supplier(s).

  • Participates in fact-based negotiations and executes contracts utilizing approved terms and conditions.

  •  Implements sourcing recommendations and develops and manages e-procurement catalog content.

  • Aggressively monitors, tracks and reports supplier compliance and performance benefits.

  • Complete data analysis and data validation.

Minimum Requirements:

Requires a BA/BS; 8 years of experience in sourcing/supplier selection with at least 6 years’ experience with negotiation of pricing and contract terms and conditions; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:

  • MBA preferred. CPM preferred.

  • Interest in Strategic Indirect Sourcing/Supply Chain, Supplier Diversity and Sales Processes is preferred.

  • Solid time management and organizational skills. Ability to balance tasks and multiple competing priorities is preferred.

  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills as evidenced by positive interactions with coworkers, management, clients and vendors.

  • Team Collaboration Skills: Works effectively and collaboratively with other team members to accomplish mutual goals.

  • Professional with a high level of self-motivation and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Detail Oriented: Attention to detail and thorough, delivering final work product with polish.

  • Customer service mentality is preferred.

For candidates working in person or remotely in the below location(s), the salary* range for this specific position is $103,400 to $169,200.
