Subrogation Analyst
Location: Virtual: This role enables associate to work virtually full-time, with the exception of required in-person training sessions, providing maximum flexibility and autonomy. This approach promotes productivity, supports work-life integration, and ensures essential face-to-face onboarding and skill development.
The Subrogation Analyst is responsible for processing, submitting, negotiating, and settling insurance and Workers’ Compensation reimbursement requests using our regulation-based process, calling to obtain information and documentation from insurance companies and medical facilities, and maintaining relationships with examiners and payment staff. In addition, candidate will assist with other various recovery team support duties.
How you will make an impact:
Reviews and evaluates accident or incident reports, individual claims, medical, legal or other documents relating to subrogation or overpayments
Responds to inquiries regarding claim recovery issues
Analyze, interpret, and apply plan language, contracts, case law and various statutes or regulations
Prepares and maintains case files, correspondence, legal documents, and other information related to Workers’ Compensation claims
Coordinates actions involving accounting for payments received
Evaluates and negotiates settlements of subrogation claims of all dollar amounts within a prescribed level of authority
Recognizes various types of insurance/medical forms, records, and documents
Prepares for and participates in dispute forum resolution through arbitration
Meets quality and time-based performance standards
Meets extraordinarily high standards for data and information confidentiality and security
Providing general assistance to the recovery team, including but not limited to scanning documents, coordinating mailing of correspondence, and other general office support
Minimum Requirements:
Requires minimum of 2 years of experience in Third Party Liability or Workers Compensation subrogation or related field; or any combination of education and/or experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of New York and/or Connecticut Workers Compensation Regulations
BA/BS degree or Legal Assistant certificate is preferred
Previous experience working in collections, recovery, or a commercial insurance field preferred

Ability to strongly adhere to HIPAA security standards
Insurance/claims/medical experience a plus
For candidates working in person or virtually in the below location(s), the salary* range for this specific position is $23.22/hour to $39.80/hour
