Engineer Senior

Location: This position will work a hybrid model (remote and office). Ideal candidates will live within 50 miles of the following PulsePoint location. 8600 W. Bryn Mawr Ave., S. Tower, Suite 800, Chicago, IL 60631

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

The Engineer Senior is responsible for maintaining active relationships with customers to determine business requirements and lead requirements gathering meetings.

How you will make an impact:

•    Own the change request process and may coordinate with other teams as necessary.  
•    Provide technical advice and weigh in on technical decisions that impact cross-functional teams.  
•    Research and propose new technologies.  
•    Develop and own list of final enhancements.   
•    Develop and define application scope and objectives and prepare technical and/or functional specifications from with programs will be written.  
•    Perform technical design reviews and code reviews. 
•    Own technical testing to ensure unit test is completed and meet the test plan requirements, system testing is completed, and system is implemented according to plan.  
•    Assess status and support data information planning.  
•    Coordinate on-call support and ensure effective monitoring of system.  
•    Maintain technical development environment.  
•    Mentor others and lead multiple or small to medium sized projects.  
•    Provide technical guidance, and mentoring.  
•    Understand the tradeoffs between technical, analytical and product needs of the technical solutions.  
•    Identify and propose strategies around technical problems affecting team, communicate standards and provide solutions.  
•    Facilitate group sessions to elicit complex information on requirements clarification, design sessions, code reviews and troubleshooting issues.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related. Five (5) years of experience in related occupation(s) with Java, Object Oriented Programming, and Spring Boot.
 

Additional Requirements:


•    Five (5) years of experience in related occupation(s) with Java, Object Oriented Programming and Spring Boot. 
•    Five (5) years of experience monitoring systems and identifying system deficiencies. 
•    Five (5) years of experience coding and maintaining complex components of information systems.  
•    Five (5) years of experience setting up SIT or UAT environments.  
•    Five (5) years of experience with systems testing for applications. 
•    Five (5) years of experience maintaining application code using Bitbucket. 
•    Four (4) years of experience with Oracle, Websphere, and Checkmarx scans.  
•    Four (4) years of experience working with multiple platforms.
