Product Management Director





The health care landscape will continue to change dramatically in the coming years with new non-traditional players entering the market daily to capitalize on key trends and unmet consumer needs. Consumers are demanding a more active and empowered role in managing their health and well-being.  They’ve learned from their experiences in other industries and are now expecting the health care industry to step up with tools and resources that provide them with greater price transparency, convenience, and care guidance. Elevance Health’s Commercial product organization is continuing its efforts to build an integrated care ecosystem. 

This position will work a hybrid model (remote and office). The ideal candidate will live within 50 miles of our Elevance Health Atlanta, GA office location.

The Product Management Director is for responsible for supporting the development of our next generation of health care products and services.  In this role you will be shaping a new, comprehensive weight management and diabetes solution with food as medicine foundation.   If you have a passion for health care and desire to create meaningful change in the consumer’s whole health care experience, we’d love to connect with you.

How you will make an impact:

  • Manage the end-to-end product development process from initial concept to business case to execution, pilot testing, measurement, and full-scale product launch.  
  • Develop new, comprehensive Cardio Diabetes/Food As Medicine solution and business requirements. Translate desired requirements based on market research into concrete product capabilities and features.  
  • Engage, influence, and collaborate with key business partners in brand/marketing, IT/digital, GTM/sales, network, benefits, corporate strategy, product operations, clinical, legal, and compliance to support the definition and development of business and product requirements.
  • Develop and maintain the Cardio Diabetes/Food As Medicine product roadmap.
  • Validate product requirements for scale through market pilots and primary research with Commercial market clients. 
  • Conduct research to understand the jobs to be done by health care consumers (insurance plan members), develop consumer use cases and journeys to inform the development of web and mobile experiences.
  • Identify opportunities to continually improve the consumer (member) experience through new product features and technology.
  • Deliver presentations on the Cardio Diabetes/Food As Medicine solution to support sales training/education and secure new client business.

Minimum requirements:

  • Requires a BA/BS degree and a minimum of 5 years of related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:

  • Master’s degree in business management/administration or health care management/policy strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in product development and management (specifically development of digitally delivered health and wellbeing/lifestyle change programs in diabetes/heart health, nutrition/food as medicine market is a plus) highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience/collaborating digital development partners to deliver products/solutions through web and mobile platforms.
  • Strategic, innovative mind-set. Understanding of human-centered design.
  • Inclination to take initiative, set priorities, and take ownership of assigned projects
  • Detail oriented and highly organized.
  • Experience leading and working with cross-functional teams including IT/digital, product, clinical, network, marketing, sales, legal, compliance, underwriting and finance.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
